Appropriate sex for middle-aged and elderly men can prevent heart disease
A long-term study by the New England Research Institute in Massachusetts, USA, shows that having sex twice a week is good for middle-aged and elderly men. Men's heart health benefits are great, cutting their chances of heart disease in half. It is understood that this study lasted 16 years and involved more than a thousand men aged 40 to 70.
Researchers say that enjoying sex regularly can help men reduce stress, gain social support, and benefit both physically and mentally. They also recommend that clinicians, in addition to considering age, weight, blood pressure and cholesterol indicators, should also understand the patient's sexual activity when assessing whether middle-aged and older men are at risk for heart disease.
