At the 12th annual academic meeting of the Provincial Society of Sexuality held on November 9, 2008, the Guangdong Provincial Family Planning Research Institute released the latest survey report on sexual problems of the migrant population. Reports show that migrant workers remain sexually active. In some factories where there are many boys and girls, the phenomenon of multiple sexual partners is prominent. Some male workers have three girlfriends at the same time. Male workers are often proud of this in their daily interactions. When a male worker said that he had had sexual relations with thirty women in the four or five years since he came to Guangzhou, his face was filled with a "sense of accomplishment." A male worker admitted that he had seven or eight girlfriends and believed that the "sexual happiness" of urban people is not as good as that of migrants.
