Dialysis of women’s sexual psychology during pregnancy

Pregnancy is a special stage in a woman’s life. This stage makes women almost become a completely different person. After a woman is pregnant, she feels a sense of pride and pride psychologically. Pregnancy further reflects the value of a woman and shows her special contribution. Indeed, the performance of reproductive functions is a sign of sound physiological functions and is not only the highest symbol of love, but also the highest act of creation and the most pleasing of all acts.

When a woman enters pregnancy, she truly experiences the mysterious birth process of life with her whole body and mind. She poured almost all her emotions and energy into the little life in her belly that was gradually maturing. The slowly squirming little life mysteriously brings the pregnant woman into a magical fantasy world. Pregnant women participate in and experience mystery throughout their pregnancy. However, every pregnant woman’s participation and experience is different. Some pregnant women’s experience is more conscious and intense, while some pregnant women are in a less conscious participation and experience.

Women also experience empathy during pregnancy. Transference here refers to a woman transferring most of her emotions from her husband to her child during pregnancy and during the postpartum period. When a woman has a new life in her belly, she will involuntarily pour most of her emotions into that life. Although she was still dependent on her husband at this time, even more than before, she only hoped to get the emotional care she needed from her husband, but she poured all the emotional care her husband needed into the new life in her belly. That is to say, the emotional center is in the fetus, not in the husband. The phenomenon of transference continues to be maintained and intensified after childbirth, making the husband feel alienated and ignored, which will affect the relationship between husband and wife over time.

Pregnant women experience varying degrees of sexual alienation. Women who enter pregnancy will feel increased sexual excitement from the beginning of pregnancy. However, what confuses many men is that although women's sexual excitement increases during pregnancy, they do not actually show a positive attitude toward sex.

There are two main reasons why this phenomenon occurs:

First, pregnant women are afraid that having sex with their husband will harm the fetus, so they try to control their sexual excitement.

A woman's fear of sexual life during pregnancy can be caused by her own previous miscarriage experience, or it can also come from the miscarriage experience of others. Unless a woman has no intention of keeping the fetus in her belly, it is impossible for her not to face the possibility of miscarriage. When the fear of miscarriage overwhelms sexual desire, pregnant women will try to avoid actual sex. When a pregnant woman's motivation or "difficulties" in avoiding sex cannot be understood by her husband, she may gradually weaken her sexual desire, making the couple's sex life even more disharmonious.

The second is that pregnant women are afraid that their body shape will not arouse their husband's sexual excitement.

Although pregnant women are proud of the changes in their bodies, they are afraid that others, especially their husbands, will not like their bodies. Some husbands will inadvertently reveal ridicule of their wives' bodies, which further hurts the self-esteem of pregnant women and makes them lose the confidence to engage in sexual life easily and freely. Over time, they will suppress their sexual desires and show a distant or indifferent attitude towards actual sex life.

Actually, this is a misunderstanding of men. A man often feels that his wife's body is beautiful during pregnancy, at least not ugly, not disgusted, and it will not affect his sexual interest in his wife. The view that physical changes after pregnancy affect sexual life is entirely the result of a woman's increased self-esteem during pregnancy. This view may come from the view that pregnant women have heard before pregnancy that men value women's bodies. However, there are still a majority of pregnant women who do not have the above-mentioned psychological burden. Their sexual excitement increases and their desire to satisfy sexual requirements is also stronger.
