A woman’s tears will extinguish a man’s sexual interest
The ancients often used "pear blossoms with rain" to describe a woman's beauty when she cries, but this kind of beauty will affect a man's sexual interest.
A latest study reported by the British Broadcasting Corporation found that although women's tears can arouse men's affection, they can also extinguish men's "sexual interest."
Noam Sobel, a neurobiologist at the Hovot-Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, led the study. They collected tears shed by female volunteers while watching sad movies. The staff then gave the male volunteers alternate smells of the tears and a saline solution.
The results showed that men who smelled tears were more likely to think that the faces of these women were not sexually attractive. And among men who smelled women's tears, testosterone levels dropped by an average of 13%. In addition, male volunteers' skin temperature, heart rate and respiratory rate also dropped after smelling women's tears.
Researchers clearly pointed out that women's tears contain a "chemical signal" that will cause men to lose their "sexual interest". This signal will reduce testosterone levels and brain activity related to sexual desire. "This is the first time that the relationship between tears and sexual desire has been studied." The person in charge of the study said that in a relationship between the sexes, it is best for women not to try to impress a man with tears. "Laughter can stimulate his sexual desire more than tears."
