Women with wider hips are more likely to have one-night stands
Women with large buttocks have long been considered "fertile". Now a new study shows that women with wider hips are more likely to have one-night stands and have more sexual partners. The study authors claimed this was because they actually experienced less pain during childbirth.
Researchers defined wide hips as having a hip width of more than 14.2 inches (36 centimeters), and small hips as less than 12.2 inches (31 centimeters). In this study, hip width was measured as the distance between the upper outer edges of the two iliac crest bones on the left and right sides of the pelvis. Participants in the study were 148 women aged 18 to 26. Researchers measured the women's hip circumference, which was measured at the widest point of the hips, and waist circumference, which was measured at the narrowest point of the waist.
All female participants had at least one previous sexual partner. They also completed a questionnaire about their sexual experiences, including the age at which they lost their virginity, the number of sexual partners they had and the number of sexual partners they had in mind. Researchers found that women with wider hips were more likely to have one-night stands.
More specifically, women who had one-night stands for three-quarters of their sex life had hips that were at least 0.8 inches (2 centimeters) wider than women who had fewer one-night stands. Researchers believe that women with wider hips have more sexual partners because giving birth is generally easier and more painful for women with smaller hips (less than 31 centimeters). Small.
He said: "The width of a woman's hips has a direct impact on the risk of potentially fatal childbirth-related injuries. It appears that when women control their sexual behavior, this risk is reflected in their behaviour. Thus, women "Sexual activity is at least partially affected by hip circumference," he said, explaining that the findings go back to how humans learned to walk upright and subsequently developed narrow hips that were more conducive to walking.
In this process, women’s hips have evolved to be wide enough. They are allowed to give birth. Babies are born less developed than other primates, requiring more care and attention from mothers and fathers after birth, the researchers say.
