In the equatorial jungle of Central Africa, a group of short residents have lived for generations. They call themselves the "sons of the forest" and regard this primeval forest as their biological parents and supreme god. They are the Pygmies.

The Pygmies are the earliest inhabitants of Central Africa and the heirs of the prehistoric Sanga civilization. Today it is distributed in the dense forests of Congo (Kinshasa), Congo (Brazzaville), Central African Republic, Burundi, Rwanda, Uganda and other countries.

Adult Pygmies are generally 1.2 to 1.3 meters tall, with a maximum height of no more than 1.4 meters and a weight of no more than 50 kilograms. They are short in stature, have long arms but short legs, flat noses, thick and outward lips, slightly lighter skin color than other black people, which is light brown, and their hair is not as curly as other black people, so they are deeply discriminated against. To this day, when Congolese people laugh at a person for being stupid, they still call him "Mabuti" (Swahili for Pygmy).

Pygmies generally have mature physiological functions when they are 8 to 9 years old, begin to have sex, and have children. They practice monogamy, and a dozen or dozens of families form a large or small tribe. The fruits of labor are equally distributed by the respected tribal leaders, and they live a clan-like society. The Pygmies eat cooked food and have known the use of fire for a long time, but they do not know how to obtain fire. Therefore, the preservation of fire has become an important daily task for women.

The Pygmies use banana leaves and palm leaves as clothing materials, and elephant bones, beetles, antelope horns, turtle shells, etc. as necklaces and bracelets. Now, due to the constant presence of tourists, the Pygmies have also learned to wear clothes. But the clothes they wear are donated by tourists and they don't know how to make them themselves.

The Pygmies pounded various wild fruits they collected and mixed the juice with women's milk to make cosmetics. Because wild fruits have different types and colors, the prepared cosmetics are colorful. Pygmy women like to wear heavy makeup. They paint geometric shapes on their faces to increase their beauty, drive away evil spirits, and express good fortune.
